Hello everyone! Let's keep the Mecha Party going, shall we?

Updates to Unlockable Mecha Abilities

For those who don't know, MMRPG Prototype 2k23 has three unique abilities tied to the summoning of "support mecha" (the little enemies you fight in each stage before the boss). The three abilities are "Mecha Support", "Friend Share", and "Mecha Party" and are unlocked in that order as your progress through the game. Veteran players will likely be familiar with the "hidden" method to unlocking these abilities a bit early, but as of v3.3.86 they will now be available as proper rewards for completing the first Chapter Three mission versus your rival.

Light Campaign Mission w/ Mecha Support Reward

Chapter 3 - Mission 1 - vs Bass & Disco Ability Reward - Mecha Support

Wily Campaign Mission w/ Friend Share Reward

Chapter 3 - Mission 1 - vs Proto Man & Rhythm Ability Reward - Friend Share

Cossack Campaign Mission w/ Mecha Party Reward

Chapter 3 - Mission 1 - vs NotMegaMan & NotRoll Ability Reward - Mecha Party
Support Mecha as Profile Avatars

Another new change in v3.3.86 is the ability to use support mecha as your profile avatars so long as you've summoned them at least once in-game! I look forward to seeing these micro machines slowly (quickly?) taking over the leaderboards. :P
Previously Shadow-Dropped Mecha Skills

You might have noticed a few new mecha skills that were added in a recent update:

Met
Passive Skill : Strength in Numbers
The active robot's stats are boosted by one stage when it notices another hardhat on the field.

Sniper Joe
Passive Skill : Joe Shield
The robot starts battles with a shield that blocks virtually all damage. Only charged attacks can remove it.

Skeleton Joe
Passive Skill : Joe Bones
The robot puts itself back together at the end of each turn to restore depleted energy. Only OHKOs can stop it.

Crystal Joe
Passive Skill : Joe Glitz
The robot shields itself with a single-use crystal between turns. Only multi-strike moves can break through.

Heal-Bot
Passive Skill : Heal Duty
The robot restores lost health to wounded robots at the end of each turn so long as it remains on the bench.

Heel-Bot
Passive Skill : Heal Block
The robot nullifies the effects of all life and weapon energy recovery moves so long as it remains on the field.

Trille-Bot
Passive Skill : Living Battery
The robot fully restores depleted weapon energies at the end of each turn so long as it remains on the bench.
Snapper and Magic Man break the meta

Well have I got some major news for you! Every single playable support mecha in our database has been given a new passive skill, and I'm confident many of them will shake-up and expand the postgame meta. I've done my best to ensure these skills do not interfere with the campaign in negative ways, with most of them only triggering outside their normal context. Still, with the right setup, some of these little critters can be used to great effect when summoned to your side of the field. I encourage you to check their entries in the Mecha Database for the full picture, but I'm documenting the full list below for posterity.

Regards,
- Adrian
